ONLINE COUNSELLING FROM TRURO, CORNWALL

Welcome to

Meadow Green Counselling

Welcome, and thank you for visiting Meadow Green Counselling. My name is Nikki Callis and I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy.

About my practice

As a counsellor my role is to provide space and guidance to discuss what is important to you at this time. I am a qualified Person-Centred therapist which means I have an empathic, non-judgmental approach and provide emotional support.

I offer the chance to reflect on the difficulties or problems you are experiencing in a safe, confidential environment, with someone outside of your day-to-day life.

Together we can explore your situation in a way that leads to a fresh perspective. Counselling isn't about giving you advice or solutions but allowing you the opportunity to make your own changes if necessary.

I offer individual counselling and particularly welcome students aged 16+ years. All sessions take place online via Zoom, enabling you to access counselling from a distance and save time on travel.

Speak in confidence

Counselling takes place in a safe space, where you can meet with someone who will listen with sensitivity and empathy - and without judgement. In the therapy space thoughts and feelings can be expressed freely and in confidence.

A problem shared...

Trouble with a relationship; anxiety or panic attacks; mood swings or depression - many people face difficulties in their everyday lives that can be hard to get on top of. Counselling gives us a set of tools we can use to help gain a better understanding of what’s causing these problems - and how you can move towards managing them.

Make better, healthier new choices

Working together, I can help you gain greater insight into the difficulties you are facing, help you understand why you act or react to them the way you do, and see how you can start to make better, healthier choices moving forward.

Fees & availability

Sessions last for one hour, usually taking place on a weekly basis, and cost £45.00. I occasionally have concessionary sessions available; please contact me for further details.

I require 24 hours notice for any cancellations; otherwise you will still need to pay for any sessions missed. Payment is by bank transfer prior to any session.

Relationships take time to establish, and it is very important for any client to be able to trust a therapist. With this in mind, I offer all new clients a free 15 minute online session which allows you to talk a little about your situation, gain a sense of what it would be like to work with me and ask any questions you may have.

Frequently asked questions

Here are some of the most frequently asked questions relating to counselling.

Please do contact me if you have any others not answered here…

What is Person-Centred counselling?

The Person-Centred modality was founded in the 1940's by psychologist Carl Rogers who believed that given the right conditions, an individual can reach their full potential. Person-Centred therapy is a non-directive approach led by you, the client and not the counsellor.

What happens in a counselling session?

There is no set agenda to your counselling sessions. During our initial session we will discuss what has brought you to counselling, however, it is common for other issues to arise as sessions progress. You are free to discuss whatever you wish to, and this may evolve over time.

Is my counselling confidential?

I adhere to the BACP Ethical Framework and ensure confidentiality. The only exception to this would be if you were to disclose something I felt was of potential risk to yourself or someone else.

How many sessions will I need?

There are no set number of sessions required, however, it is important to regularly review our work together to ensure we are focusing on what`s important to you. It is common for other issues to arise which you may wish to explore as well.
